Shooting Star Chase

We were delighted to welcome Shooting Star Chase to Surbiton Farmers’ Market for the first time in March and to learn more about their fantastic work. Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. They offer an amazing array of support from short breaks, day care, symptom management, end of life care, bereavement care and support groups for the whole family. These services are offered at their two hospices (Shooting Star House in Hampton and Christopher’s in Guildford) and through their Hospice at Home team. Shooting Star Chase works to make every moment count and Surbiton Farmers’ Market is proud to have played a part in raising vital funds for their work.

Sarah and her fantastic team of volunteers from the Epsom and Chessington Friends of Shooting Star Chase group sold Easter treats and hospice merchandise, raising over £185 in the process. The market will match this, bringing the total raised to a fantastic £370! Sarah, who is the Chair of the Epsom and Chessington Friends group, said, ” We were delighted to be invited to participate in the Surbiton Farmers’ Market. Everyone was very friendly and generous. It offered us a chance to talk to people about what Shooting Star Chase does and to meet and thank our local supporters. We were really pleased with the amount raised and want to thank everyone who donated and especially to the organisers for matching what we made. The money will go towards continuing to provide services for the children and families we support.”

Many thanks to everyone who came to the March market and helped us to support Shooting Star Chase!
